Olympia Bike Park Preliminary Design Meeting. 3pm, Feb. 20th 2010 Tumwater Library.
Olympia, Tumwater and Lacey all now have some form of bike recreation integrated into the long range park plans. What that means is still very open for definition. We as cyclist need to step forward and define what we would like to see happen so money isn’t spent on consultants and designs that don’t meet the needs of area cyclist.
My hope at this meeting is to
A. Prioritize the features each cycling discipline would like to see. (Mountain Bike, Cyclocross, BMX, etc.)
B. Create a rough design of bike park concepts
C. Define some accessible funding options over the next two to three years
D. Discus the best strategy to work with park staff to implement these ideals in existing or new parks in Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater
