The 2010 Two County Double Metric is over!

Whew -

We had the best turnout in five years  and amazing bicycle weather for the riders and the volunteer crew.  The road marking was excellent and the food we plentiful and welcome (except for that one teeny almost mishap where Twin Oaks was down to their last cookie for a few minutes).

When you see these people be sure to thank them for the experience -

  • Bill and Shawn from the Bike Stand for the excellent parking lot work.
  • Bike Tech who loaned the van that shuffled all the stuff you needed to eat, eat on and eat with.
  • Jason from Old Town Bicycle for the excellent. mechanical assistance at Swede Hall. Jason says thanks for the tips – the money goes into their fund for miscellaneous supplies at future ride stops.
  • Eric Potter for the use of his front yard in Pleasant Valley at Twin Oaks Road for the 105 abd 125 mile riders.
  • Mary Cave whose shady front yard on 140th SW (near Reeder Road) was such a welcome rest and refuel stop.

Come over to our Facebook page, drop a comment and maybe a link to your photos from the ride.

Our next newsletter will have stories about the volunteers who made the ride happen.

Thank you for riding.

Great ride, great route, great food, perfect weather! Thanks to all who volunteered! Managed to miss the 75 mi turnoff, hence my untrained derriere had to suffer through 105 mi. Would have appreciated to encounter some pace lines.

Thanks for the great ride. I tried to post this comment on the CBC website, but couldn’t.

Thanks for the Two County bike ride. Great route, well marked. Wonderful volunteers. Loved those bean roll-ups. We started at 7 AM sharp and finished at 8:05 PM, whew, what a ride!

I couldn’t read the squiggly code word. The first word is hard to read, and the second word goes beyond the middle column and is cut off and not visible.
