2012 Saturday Social Rides Calendar

2012 Saturday Social Rides

Welcome to the Social Ride Series! Here is the new complete ride calendar for the 2012 Saturday Social Rides from March through October.

These rides are designed to give plenty of opportunities to chat with fellow cyclists, smell the roses, view the scenery and stop at bakeries or other points of interest.  Riders should be capable of riding for 2-3 hours at the lowest pace noted for the ride. There may be more than one pace group on each ride, but no one will be dropped.  Ride start time is 10 AM (unless otherwise noted) and most rides proceed even if it is lightly raining.   Maps and cue sheets will be provided on each ride. Feel free to contact the ride leaders with questions ahead of time.

There are still a few open Saturdays in need of rides and ride leaders.
If you are interested, please contact Sue Duffy – Road Captain at roadride@capitalbicycleclub.org 360-918-8546

Saturday Social Rides Begin in March!

March 3rd begins the season for our Saturday Social Rides. Check the calendar for the latest schedule. We still have dates to fill – so it’s not too late to join our illustrious group of ride leaders and share a favorite ride. See the earlier post for available dates.

Our March 17th Anderson Island ride didn’t make it into the print version of the newsletter – here are the details;

March 17: Anderson Island 50 miles, Pace 3. Ride leaves at 10:30 AM!!! Ride to the Steilacoom ferry dock where we will take the 12:00 PM ferry to the island. Riders are welcome to explore the island on their own or follow a suggested route and return to the dock for the 2:10 PM departure. Cue sheets will be provided. The terrain is hilly and steep at times. Bring $5 for the ferry and money for snacks at the Nisqually Coffee Cafe on the island. Heavy rain cancels. Meets at the Lacey Community Center parking lot at 6729 Pacific Ave. SE, 98503. Chris Schneider (360) 789-8880 ccschneider1@yahoo.com
